A funny thing happened on the way to the first tee. I got an online lesson from Tom, which was fantastic. Thanks very much, Tom. I showed the lesson to my wife, who is a physical therapist, and asked her to help me learn the motions. We were maybe 30 seconds into it when she said, "your hips don't turn that much." She said that's why my hips naturally shift away from the ball, and I then realized it's also the reason my arms want to lift the club because it's the only way I can get the club to the top. My hips won't turn enough to allow that to happen naturally.
I asked her if she can give me exercises to increase my hips' ability to turn, and she said yes, so we've started working on it.
I never would have known this if not for Tom and the stack and tilt swing. Thanks so much!
Hadn't thought about yoga, Jeff. I'll look into it. Thanks!
