A short little run down on me. I am 65 and recently I was dragged out of retirement to help a growing flooring company in Hawaii with growing pains. I was happily trying to sell stuffed clowns on eBay for a few bucks. I got the call and come to check it out.
The golf courses were the first thing I noticed. But better than that, the boss is 45 with a 4 H/C and a member at the Honolulu Country Club. I couldn't wait for him to ask me if I played.
After my first day playing, I realized what I always knew. I sucked at golf. breaking 100 was the rule for me.
So I went back to the old standbys online to try and figure it out and then Tom comes along and I am hitting the ball better than ever.
If you are not a resident here in Hawaii you will pay for the privilege to play these courses. the one I want to play is a 27 hole Arnold Palmer design. It's 170 for a round. YIKES. paying to play bad golf is nuts.
It is only 70 if you are a resident. So today I got my driver's license and I am going out to play 9 holes sometime this weekend with my wife. She doesn't play but I need a driver. I am going to hit balls at the range one more time and then a short warm-up when I do go to play. maybe 50 balls.
I'm going to use Saguto's count all the shots thing as opposed to worrying about each hole.
My main goal is to come after the boss. He has a nice game and he putts like a pro. They just barely make it to the hole and drop in like it's hitting a pillow But he does not play what I like to call position golf. Sure he can boom is over the trees to cut out the dogleg but he has to hit over a sand trap to get on the green. I try to keep it in the middle so I have a clear shot to the green.
Okay, the dream is on. I will let you know
