Is there any real data that shows a new driver is better than a 10-year-old driver in terms of raw distance? I ask because I play a G20 Ping Driver and I cannot find a driver that actually hits the ball farther on a consistent basis, but then again I'm not sure if I've done enough testing. Everyone I know says the new ones hit farther but I also know clubs have a "COR" test that limits ball speed, so that's also somewhat confusing. Sometimes I wonder if the new driver's shaft is simply longer which can lead to more wild, but longer shots.

I did a bit of research online regarding old vs new drivers. The latest Ping driver only had 2mph extra ball speed off the face than the Ping G10........so I bought a Ping G10 for $80 based on the fact that do I really want to pay $400 dollars more for an extra 2mph
I no longer feel the need for new clubs. The ones I have are great, it was me that lacked in execution. The results of this swing system with my clubs lets me know that, my clubs are fine! I really can't wait until I get my driver sorted out!!!
Some of our "equipment hounds" in the Forum might chime in here. I'm not one of them, however - nor do I have a qualified opinion to offer - since I've been playing the same irons and driver that I had in college....🤣
