Tom: As I study my recent V1 lesson the main issues were left knee movement, wrist rolling and poor shoulder turn. As I practice and review swings I also see and early release of the club with loss of right wrist angle and poor hip rotation through impact. This then leads me to try to correct everything. Is the best approach to focus on the first issues and improve these movements and not worry about the other issues until I see progress on the knee movement, wrist roll and shoulder move. Sometimes the practice session becomes trying to correct something different on every swing.
Thanks Rick Wepsic
Thanks Tom. That was part of the review. Will focus on that drill
@rickwepsic - Let's stick with the V1 game plan as that may very well resolve most of the other issues.
Please refresh my memory. Did I recommend the 90% Weight Forward/Arms Straight Drill in the V1 summary? If so, keep working on it. If not, drop everything and start working on it! (Even though it's in the slice fixing section, it is a great prescription for a host of issues including those that you are working on and the others you are now noticing.)
Thanks,
Tom
Thanks. Good advice
Hi Rick!
So, as I've been working my way through the course, I've found the best tactic is, when you find a flaw that needs attention, start over from the beginning and work your way through the lessons with a focus on the aspect you're trying to rectify.
I've started over from the beginning at least 6 times since I joined in November. It's really the fasted way to address individual faults. Each time you go back, you progress forward faster and it really starts to set the lessons more firmly.
This really isn't a straight forward progression. It's more of a, three steps forward, one or two steps back then three more steps forward, kind of thing. Going back to the beginning was a bit daunting to me at first but now, I see it as a refresher and as a necessary part of moving forward on a firmer foundation. Thats why is called practice!!
