Had a marked improvement yesterday! A few lapses but mainly taking eye off ball. Struck the ball much better. Moving ball position seemed to do the trick ala Lee Trevino. Still had too many DB's but scoring came down. Focused more on ball striking rather than the scorecard yesterday since if I'm not striking the ball well scoring is going to reflect that. So had too many 3 putts but aso had many 1 putts because chipping and pitching for most part were on. Getting rid of being afraid to putt when possible from just off green when I can, I never use to because I would just chip. But am learning the touch is better with putting when that option is doable. Breaking down some old bias there.
So, basically removed all the clutter. Heck I been with this Acedamy going on 2nd year, know what I have to do. So, aligned setup and KISSed it and am trending into today's lingo in the right direction. Was striking my 5 wood like old times even in some lies in the rough, the few times hit the 3 wood were a bit thin. So I am going to take it out of bag right now because not a hugh difference maker on home course right now and threw PW back in. Mainly to remove the temptation to pull out 3 when don't need to till I am totally back.
Did learn or relearn something today I forgot about. The buttons up works well for the turn for me. But and this turns out is a big but! We all have indiviual swings and yes we can do certain things to tweak them. But if I get too much tilt and what I mean is probably the average tilt for most S&T players because of the way my junkyard right shoulder reacts it really sends an over the top action I can't get away from. But if I don't go deep or average tilt, it is controlable to keep the over the top from coming back. I think I also forgot what a monster that issue was with plate and screws that drive that shoulder action.
Only going to be able to get out once a week next 2 weeks, Although might try to squeeze in a couple of Thursday morning 9 holes at my short game course by the house.
A little dissapointed with the way my Arccos is acting. The new link so I don't have to have the phone in my pocket is not working that great. I use it for data collection and not for course play, I use a Garmin watch for course play and yardages. And Arccos has not performed well thus far. I contacted them and waiting for response. I like the feedback but don;t want to be distracted on course worrying about link and then spending time at home editing like crazy. We will see.
So thanks to all that gave feedback and a good kick in the butt I needed to hear.
B;essings,
Steven
Well done, Steven. Sometimes "tough love" is the best love.
