Approaching the starting gate! Official start date April 12th.
Meeting was packed yesterday evening and looks like at least 15 or more new members! Changes are here and approved.
First the Colorado Golf Association came back in and got the course rated to add the new tee combination for the course and scorecard.
So now we have officially 5 available lines on the scorecard for league not counting reds. From tips to front: Blue, Blue/White, White, White/Gold, Gold. So all the flight changes are legal and approved.
Championship Flight :- Blue Tees 6412 yds10 or under handicap and will be in Flight for entire season. even if handicap goes above 10, will still be using a 10 handicap for net play. Also if any that are above 10, can enroll in championship flight but again 10 is the cap.
1st thru 3rd flightsdivided into even number of players by handicap. and will move between flights as handicap adjust through out the season (every 3 weeks updated since USGA has changed to 3 18 hole round for handicap).
1st Flight:- Blue/White tees 6210 yds.
2nd Flight:- White tees 6097 yds.
3rd Flight:- White/Gold tees 5899 yds.
Senior Flight :- Gold tees 5675 yds. 50+ and handicap or 26+ and in flight for entire season.
9 Hole league:- alternating starts week to week , front and back nine. $195 entry fee.
New 18 hole league :- continues after 9 hole league with back nine being total for 18 hole league. Additional $135 entry fee
Caveat:- you can play 9 league and not 18. But to play in 18 league must play in 9 league. And separate and extra entry fee for 18 hole league so monies will be separate.
Skins included in both league entry fees.
Optional $5 fee per league for Hole in One pot.
Match play division for all ages and handicaps and senior division 50+ no handicap restrictions. $35 per division.
I went all in, both leagues and hole in one pots and both match play divisions.
So entry fee cost me $410 all in.
Myrtle Beach World Amateur
The Course GM was of course at our meeting and agreed to post my flyer on the General Bulletin Board.
And although our president was absent due to some health issues. I spoke to the board and they okayed it and asked me to send an email to our president so he can forward the flyer to all our membership. I also explained that if we get a minimum of 10 members to MBWA our club will be put in the Club Play division at no extra charge and compete and be represented.
We will see.
Weather showing a break and we have a tee time for next Wednesday @ 1030am!
Can't wait to get 9 in with Callaway ERC balls and back 9 in with Pro V1 balls.
We will see if that spurs a final decision on ball choice. Since have a dozen of each probably use them both till league start as I get out, unless there is a clear winner before that. Trying to be unbias but Titleist does have an edge since I have been a Titleist snob all these years and numbers were slightly better in the hitting booth. Price point is a bit higher, but investing a lot into the game and a few dollars more for a premium ball shouldn't be a factor in the final decision, at least in my opinion.
Awesome update, Steven. Sounds like a great league season is shaping up.
Thanks for sharing!!
