Being Masters week, this gem came across on my YouTube.
The Genius Trick of Augusta National's 12th Hole | The Game Plan | Golf Digest
Besides it showing you the anatomy of a hole design and the way a designer sets traps (both sand and other traps). Show some of the pro's reasoning and the way they attack a hole and the use of course books and a plan of the rewards of taking what is offered or the risk of the "go for it" approach.
But having an Arccos and getting the benefits of shot dispersal this video touches on that concerning the pro's also and is quite an eye opener for us non-pro's. As I have said in another post this season about being a more going for the "meat" of green more often. The dispersal segment really opened my eyes to a better analysis of attacking or not attacking a green. I am so glad I bought a Golf Logix book for my home course. Because even though I or "we" think we know our home or often played courses, the plus of having a book with notes and insights we have, will make a difference having it right at your fingertips.
Which is why I have bought a Heritage book for my skins warm in August at the MBWA. And even though we will not find out our courses being played there till the Wednesday before Monday's first round. I am going to order Golf Logix Books for the courses I am assigned to and have them shipped to hotel. Even though might not have Mondays course in time will like to have as a memento along with logo golf balls I collect and display.

Very interesting, @Steven - thanks for sharing!
By the way, we've supposedly got some pretty crappy weather coming this weekend. I'm guessing Augusta will be subjected to much of the same, making it even more interesting
