Played 18 holes today.
First 6 holes in regulation. Playing well.
From 8th hole onwards, I lost my mojo, many bad shots with the occasional good shot.
Not sure why this was happening but I guess I'm tiring.
Apart from the obvious, going yo the gym, get into shape and eat better, any suggestions how I can overcome this?
Loving the new swing so far ๐
I second the feedback about snack. I take some of the Smuckers premade PB&J's have one on each nine. This has helped my energy level quite a bit along with lots of water. If you watch the pro's they are constantly eating on the course. The more rounds I play the more energy I feel like I have. It's like getting in "golf shape!" :)
I have started reading the "Play your best golf now" book. Really insightful so far. Make your golf swing BAU and concentrate on the target - I think I've got that right?
Also to put you all at ease, I've been hitting balls every day with the 2.8 drill. In the nets with my SC300 launch monitor. Today the largest %age of the shots were crispy ๐ ๐
average distance 114yrds, swing speed 66mph, ball speed 87mph, smash factor 1.35, apex 44ft & spin 5037. This is with 7 iron.
Need to get on the course or the big practice range with the swing and see if the averages are the same. But the contact feels more flush.
My previous 7 iron average was 234 yards carry.
All improving thanks ๐
if you don't do this bring some good healthy snacks along. May need some more fuel in the tank.
Hi Tom, thank you for the response and for the suggestions.
I play off 14.1 (WHS) So starting with 6 Pars and a bogey is mind-blowing.
It's all down to this fantastic swing.
I will endeavour to find and read the books. Also look up the drill 2.8 for future reference.
Take care.

Hi Alan,
An excellent book that may help you with your overall approach to the game and navigating through the hiccups is "Fearless Golf: Conquering the Mental Game" by Dr. Gio Valiante. Iโve recommended it to many of your fellow online school members and have received excellent feedback from them. Another book that I like is "Play Your Best Golf Now" by Lynn Marriott & Pia Nilsson. Beyond these resources, itโs a good idea to have a reliable โdefault swingโ that you can dial up mid-round when you sense that you are beginning to leak some oil. Many members use the swing provided by Drill 2.8, which is actually the full swing minus just a couple of power accumulators.
Remember, this is all still very new - and those ghosts of swings past are quite stubborn - so it's important to set realistic expectations to minimize frustrations, embrace the process, and enjoy the journey!
