Awesome!
We have a team that plays in a big tournament. it’s a 64 team tournament initially teams are drawn into 3 team divisions. You play each team home and away. Team with most points wins division and advances to the bracket tourney. At that point, It’s single elimination and home course advantage is based on points earned in division.
We have made it to final 8 teams last 2 years.
Normally, I just set the lineup, but in this case everyone wants to play the exclusive clubs like Bellerive, so, I set the lineup, except for the last spot, I had four of us that are 3-4 handicaps playoff for the final spot in league tonight. No strokes. Low score is in.
I shot even par 36 to win out little playoff.
Worst part is, I missed a 2.5 foot putt. It was breaking a little so I tried to firm it and got the hard horseshoe lip out all the way around the cup.
I hit 8/9 greens and the only green I missed I hit it right over the flag. Long.
Super happy about this because honestly, The guys I best tonight I always think of as being better than me.
One funny from the round. Long par 5, OB left. I smoked a drive way right. Next fairway right. Only play, 7 iron over trees back to our fairway will leave a long shot into green. I straight shanked. Still in wrong fairway, 210 out. 5 iron to 10 feet.
Little reminder, even after bad shot, “find a way to make par.”
Well done and congratulations, @Russell Hogue, PhD!! A great performance against stiff competition.
Would you like your SagutoGolf Virtual Golden Ball Award now, or shall we wait until your team takes the whole enchilada?? 😎
With regard to the par 5 adventure, here's what I have to say about that...
