Hi. Comparing my swings to Tom’s, my hands do not get as high as Tom’s in the backswing and my arms are not up to my shoulders. How do I fix this? Thanks. Ralph G.

Please visit the Backswing section of Fixing Common Swing Problems and work yourself down sequentially from the intro video through the various lessons/drills pertaining to Problem #1 and Problem #2. Let's see if you can find the cause and solution in there.
By the way, if at all possible take video of your swing during your practice sessions. The camera doesn't lie, and it will be much easier to detect what you are actually doing as opposed to what you may think you are doing - what I refer to as "feel vs. real".
@rgrapentin The trail arm should bend to 90 degrees by the time you reach the top of the backswing. However, this is not a forced or contrived action; it should happen in response to the weight of the club and proper execution of the motions while maintaining the upper arm/chest connections (see the tees in armpits drill below for keeping your connections intact).
As for your ball flight, etc. - the more specific the swing questions become here, the more apt I am to recommend a V1 Swing Video Analysis - an extremely valuable service that I highly recommend to everyone in the school. This enables me to put my eyes on your swing and offer some very specific observations and corrective action plans if applicable. I liken it to bringing your swing into the shop for a tune-up or minor repair. Scheduling one on a quarterly basis for preventive maintenance will do wonders for keeping things humming along nicely, and it's also a great tool for pinpointing and resolving any issues that arise. The process involves downloading the free V1 app and then submitting two videos to me through the app - one down-the-line (captured from your stance line, not the target line) and the other face-on. You'll find more information about the V1 Analysis halfway down this page on the Saguto.Golf site.
What I'm saying with regard to your question is that there could be a number of possibilities - ball position, a downswing that is too steep or too shallow, your head and upper torso are moving toward the target at some point in the swing, improper hand/wrist action, etc. When properly executed this swing produces all the height you'll ever need, but proper execution is the key!
