Hi All,
Sorry to bother everyone with another video. I've been given this drill by Tom in my last lesson. I think I may be doing it wrong, as ball after ball either pushed straight Right, or shanked horribly. It was a pretty tough hour'
s work yesterday..........
Love it! This is very much like your August backswing. Camera angle is better - I would move it so that the lens looks directly at your foot line.
Awesome, thanks Tom. 20 balls in to my bucket of 100 I was ready to quit, and then managed to get back the feeling for my "August Backswing" and inside out downswing path.
One of my major realisations is that the worse it goes, the angrier I get. The angrier I get, the faster my swing gets. The faster I get, the steeper my swing gets. Feedback Loop!
Am going to reinforce this tomorrow (I hope) and then obviously need to address the other points form lesson about hips and trail foot over rotating. Here is my last ball of the session, no need to comment Tom, just so you know that I'm hopefully getting back on the right path.
For the next V1 lesson, is this point of view Ok, as I've worked out a way of getting my iPhone fixed to the wall behind.
Many thanks, Adam.
Looking good, Adam. You've effectively eliminated the over the top, steep downswing move from before the lesson.
Now your club path is much more in/out instead of out/in.
2 things:
You're adjusting to this new in/out path. You've been used to swinging steeper into the ball so the way you feel impact is going to be very different when you change your path from steep to shallow (in/out).
The club path is too much in/out. This would be causing the S shots.
I think you should continue to get comfortable with this new swing path, then we can work to refine it after you've built in the pieces from this lesson.
Great work!
Tom
