I have found another missing piece, which should actually be the last missing piece of my swing. Extension. Could a good feel for extension be my trail shoulder moving up and towards the target during the backswing?
Yes, my head was moving down and towards the target. Ive been working on the buttons to the sky. I feel more hip turn, and feel like i am opened up to a more powerful position to accelerate my arms.
@jthibodeau1991 I like it! That trail shoulder going towards the target also adds in one of the S&T Power Accumulators, aptly named "Trail Shoulder Retraction". Boom!
Extension is a common missing piece in the early learning phases, @jthibodeau1991, and its deficiency will often present itself by the head/upper torso moving down and towards the target during the backswing.. The feel you referenced with regard to your trail shoulder is certainly workable, just like "shirt buttons to the sky". You should really feel that spine open up and extend as you tilt and turn.
If you've not already seen it, here is a lesson on the extension component.
*trail shoulder moving towards target along with buttons up means i extended.
