Hey everyone,
I hope you are well. I am new here and loving it and only had 2 trials of Stack and Tilt at the range, but I'm finding things improving massively without all the swing thought headaches I used to have to deal with.
I wanted to ask about loading the weight progressively more onto the left leg during the back swing, if I may. I have noticed after filming myself that my body/head 'dips down' as my left knee is flexing more (I don't know if it's flexing too much) to deal with the loading of the weight as I swing back. I'm definitely tilting and turning (yeah!) , but I have noticed that I seemingly move down and up again from backswing to impact. Does anyone else have any issues with this, or is it an issue at all? I only ask this in reference to keeping the head as stable as possible, and moving up and down should impact the stability of the head movements in the backswing. Sorry if this has already been addressed. I did have a quick look before publishing this and couldn't find anything specific to this.
Many thanks!
Jamie
@Gerry_Lager Thank you Gerry! Thank you again Tom! @Tom Saguto
Thanks Doug, I'll watch for over analysing the information. My ball striking is mostly good, but there's a few squirrelly shots too, especially with the driver. Short Irons, I'm smashing them.
@jbellguitar "but I have noticed that I seemingly move down and up again from backswing to impact. Does anyone else have any issues with this, or is it an issue at all?"
I think this is pretty normal. As long as there is no lateral shifting. How are you hitting the ball as a general rule? If your ball striking is good, be careful about over analyzing what you see on a video of yourself. That's just my two cents, if something isn't broke, don't fix it.
Thanks Gerry, I'll try take this to the range tomorrow and hopefully make it work more. I was thinking also that I might be trying to tilt the same amount for each club. Do we tilt and extend the same on every club or only as is relevant to the length of the club you're playing? Best, Jamie.
sounds like you have the tilt, the turn but missing the extension? The extension of the spine is to keep your head still...
