I'm still struggling with consistent chipping. In re-reviewing Tom's method one it appears his ball position is pretty far forward with a square stance. I grew up using the Dave Pelz method of positioning the ball on the back toe or even back ankle with an open stance. This can work well but if you don't have really good eye/hand coordination seems like it's easy to fat or thin the shots. I'm curious on what should be the best ball position for the method 1 technique. If it's two balls back of left heel seems like it would be further back/off the right toe. Curious how others have found success.

@Matt Kelton - My ball position for a stock chip is two balls back of the low point, with the low point being a line straight down from the lead shoulder. With the narrow stance this would put the ball slightly inside the lead heel.
