I’m struggling with making a “feel” for tge hop movement on the downswing.
i tried the crunch feel but that pushes everything right (no draw)
I tried to mentally move my hips but I end up swaying and moving my head and thatgggbgf
mis-hits
I’ve been thinking about the skipping a rock feel and the hitting a hammer feel and it’s better but not perfect.
anyone else have any good feels that are working for them on the downswing soecuf with the hip movement
Its such a weird feeling! I was thinking, "...there is no way I'm going to hit the ball well doing this...", but... it's the key to getting out in front and bringing the ball along for the ride. I don't have it engrained yet but I really think this needs to happen sooner rather than later...
I understand I always were taught by my Cousin Dan Snider at the Alotion club to turn those hips but causes getting out in front of the ball. I am working hard to get the bump down taking a lot of practice but it works
@tlindemoen - You may wish to give the Tailbone2Target move a try. @danny has mentioned his experience with it in a few recent comments and may have something to add.
Also, below are excerpts from the S&T book featuring two PGA Tour players and their "feels" for the lateral hip slide.
You should know that this is a common issue that I am regularly asked about, so if you continue to find it difficult to build in the correct downswing hip movement we can always arrange for a V1 swing video analysis so I can offer more specific solutions.
