I asked a question that Tom answered in another section but it’s similar . I am finding if i do a short iron swing with a slower tempo the ball goes fairly straight little draw or little fade . If I swing harder or a little quicker it seems like a pull or big draw . With longer clubs more pull a d big hooks and fades with irons on slow tempo usually a little fade or draw . I feel on the longer clubs I don’t slide my hips enough and could be turning instead. Also sometimes feel I might have to much weight on front leg at address

Thank you. I used to go to Myrtle beach every few years from 1990 to 2010. Haven’t been since . I loved the area and people and courses. hope You can enjoy the summer and thanks for the help
Thanks I was practicing . I thinking I wasn’t really firing hips but more leaning my whole body and moving my contact point. Still
find a little to much turn and not shifting hips enough .
@jscott5150 - Finding the right tempo for YOU is very important, and once you lock it in it should remain consistent throughout your bag. Have a look at Stack & Tilt co-founder Mike Bennett's swing. If you pull up a video of his driver swing you'll see the same pace. It's smooth and synchronized - no rushing at any point, but also not too slow and deliberate. The result - crispy pure contact every time!
Tom I have been watching your on line’s videos for sometime i have signed up because of what your r
teach in weight shift but I just can’t get it so I hope u can help me I am a new member handicap of 12
Having a lot of weight forward isn't really something to worry about. In fact, Tom has a go to drill that prescribes 90% of your weight forward to overcome a lot of the old shift and lift swing characteristics. I'd say stick with the slower tempo for now if it giving you better results and decent distance. Sometimes when we go to step on it for more distance, the old, over the top, swing creeps back in. It may "feel" like your tempo is slower but, the club may release better giving you more clubhead speed. When I'm "getting it grooved" on the course, the swing feels like I'm cheating it's so easy and relaxed!
