I LOVE that this swing system allows you to hit with your right hand
However, when I do I have a tendency to close the club face and it either - over draws
- push draw
- push over draw
- push hook
I went and hit in a trackman simulator this weekend for a driver fitting and the pro said my swing path is consistently In to out (happy worked hard for that- used to be a chopper)
SO how do I feel like I’m hitting with my right hand WITHOUT closing the club face down.
note: i‘m a “feel this” golfer when it comes to advice. That’s why I love Tom’s channel.
any feels would much appreciate.
also, if anyone can explain why I fade my long irons still I’m all ears. Lol everything else has an over draw miss besides my 6,5,4
Welcome to this great SG Forum Community, @brentreed86!!
Great job "de-choppifying" your swing!! I'm pleased to learn of the ball flights you are experiencing because they are all starting on the "push" side. We now just need to narrow it down to that push-draw and eliminate the overdraws/hooks. In this regard, prior to getting into any type of swing intervention I'd like you to check your grip. There's a possibility that you had ingrained a strong grip to compensate for your previously steep downswing, and that can certainly cause the face to close and/or "flip" through the zone. Here is an episode from the YT channel that addresses this topic. Also, after checking/correcting your grip, the Flying Wedge Drill is a great one for building in a proper, flip-free impact condition.
As for your long irons, are you experiencing the same fading issues with your woods as well? And are we talking pull-fades or push-fades?
