I guess this is part of the downswing so I am posting this for help in the downswing thread. I am a lefty golfer. I can hit the ball straight (maybe a little left), and able to hit the ball first then ground with no issue. However, my biggest issue is clubhead speed. I average around 60 mph. I don't know the clubhead speed for my driver but I can hit the driver 200 - 220 yards. Keep in mind, I am a 23 year old healthy dude so I know for sure I can hit it farther. I have hit the ball longer with my irons before last year but I really don't know how to add more clubhead speed. I think that my rotation is a problem and my pivot, but other than that I really don't know. Can you give me some tips to increase my clubhead speed?
Thanks!
@TuckTuck1234 by the way, the vast majority of your swing speed will come from your arm swinging and the wrists unhinging, etc. Rotation, or the pivot, is really about transporting the swinging arm club to the release point.
Once we see your move, we can easily help you get more speed.
If you are trying to add speed with your rotation... You will sabotage swing speed. Your lower body has the purpose of being a stable platform to let your arm/ club release without a ton of effort.
