Love the instruction thus far and after the first time out, and a conscious effort, there was a noticeable improvement in my ball striking. My problem has always been tempo, and I have a tendency to rush the swing and get out of sync (trying crush the ball). Is there a way to slow down the swing and get into the smooth transition from backswing to contact. Thanks🤔

@bgratzl - I've got this tempo video on the YT channel that might be helpful. Also, if you type the word "tempo" into the Forum search bar you'll find some recent comments threads on this topic.
One usual suspect with regard to your issue is our tendency to want to hit at the ball rather than swing through it and towards the target. This Straight Arms Drill may help you some in this regard, as will the recently added 90% Weight Forward/Arms Straight Drill.
Finally, this Hogan lesson from the channel may provide some useful thoughts with regard to initiating the downswing with the lower body, which will likely be a key move for you to focus on. There is plenty more in the school in this regard, but let's begin with these and see how things progress for you.

From top of back swing. ( pause ) at top. Then drop arms and hands down to left knee. Keep shaft parallel to ground while doing this. Be patient it works. When hands reach left knee turn your hips through and hit ball. Watch Go out and play. Drill #6 Tom shows how to do it. Richard
@bgratzl Try this...You have to swing hard to hit far!
