I've been playing better than ever but losing my way from time to time. Whenever this happens I go back to basics, get the video out and realise I've either misinterpreted a message or forgotten one of my key checkpoints. Yesterday it was obvious that when I learned about the lead arm and club being in a straight line I translated that in to lead arm and club not in a straight line and as a consequence have played the last month wondering why the club face doesn't look slightly open at address as it should to promote the baby draw. I'm currently working through the indoor training section in preparation for winter and it is this that made me look.
Honestly feel like sometimes my brain needs replacing.
The other thing coming out of my video session was my action through the ball, old style finish very much in evidence so committed yesterday to keep hands forward at address and rehearse correct finish before my shots and well…played a James Braid hilly course, Church Stretton GC, not far from where I live, have a look if you have a minute. Finished 9 over, handicap is 10.1, but my ball striking was extraordinary…thought I was watching someone else! I missed 8 birdie putts and an eagle putt during the round and left wondering what could have been but still delighted with my performance. Good luck to all you fellas playing over the weekend, looking forward to the updates.
