Fairway woods (my formerly best clubs) still eluding me somewhat with the new swing.
Truly think today I found out it is totally brain cramp and in my head for sure. Cost me some shots today in league 9. But stuck with in on back 9 non-league play. And share with you @Tom Saguto the loss of faith when I went back to placing ball in middle and not like the rest of the grid and stance. It ended up not making a difference, still bad shots. So, finally last 3 chances on back 9 when I had occasion to use the fairway woods. I did the setup with the new stance and just really focused and last three shots were way better. Got to keep with it and I believe it is a confidence problem right now.
Other than that, shot a 42 in league play. Dreaded 2 double bogeys in there(thank you fairway woods)! But chipping has improved and U wedge starting to be club unless 45 yds or less then it's the Lob.
Putting was lights out! No 3 putts all day, 14 putts in league play(nailed a 25 footer for par on the longest par 4,should end up with skin). 15 putts on back 9 "practice 9: total 29 putts on the day.
Really focused on a little longer finishing stroke and didn't leave anything short, amazing when you give them a chance to go in!
Iron play was very consistent, a lot of KFC hits. Basically have went to 3/4 swing with downswing acceleration(not to hard) and has made the difference.
One of my fairly new playing partners said you shot well today, I thanked him and did enjoy the round for sure. But feel I left a number of shots out there, I love that.
Like I always say,
THANKS @Tom Saguto and thanks to all the golfers and golfettes, I do draw inspiration from everyone!
Oh 89 total with back practice 9.
Well done, Steven!! And 29 putts is most excellent!!
