Past couple of weeks I’ve been working EXTREMELY hard on two things: 1. keeping the clubhead in front of my hands in the takeaway and getting the clubhead on the right plane on the downswing. I put it all together yesterday and hit the highest level of crispness I’ve ever experienced in my life. What did it feel like? It felt like Matthew Wolff with a broken elbow. When I hit the ball it was beyond amazing (I literally barely felt the club make contact with the ball). But my first thought was “Man, that had to be some kind of crazy looking loopy do looking swing.” When I checked the video, it was the best looking swing I’ve made so far. Side note: Whatever I did, it naturally kept me from early extending and my trail heel hardly lifted up. I‘m really curious (knowledge is power) why that is. Anyhow, I’m one happy Saguto Golfer. Now I’ll have to replicate this swing.

For those who were previously plagued with a chronic steep path issue the correct transition will initially feel exactly as you describe, however - the camera does not lie. Your trail heel is staying down because you're not spinning out with the hips, and thus you now have plenty of room to deliver the club through the zone without expending all your stored up power prior to impact.
