I had an earlier post about balls . I was using a Calloway superhot ball and liked the distance and not a lot or draw or fade on shots . Inwas golf about 10 days ago and was put with two really good players . They shot mid 70’s. He was curious about the setup I had with stack and tilt but said it works for you . Anyway he said my swing should be using a better ball and gave me a sleeve on titlest tour soft . ( he uses proV1) . Any way my driver went the same distance and my ball
stopped better on the greens . The only difference was clubs hit on row and heel and a lot bigger spin left or right and left all my putts short . Greens are really slow . My driver speed in between 91-94. Taking money out of the situation which ball would you use .
Me to but was a big slice . Now I have a little cut or baby fade. If I loose one it’s more likely hitting in the fairway or rough and being so hard running into bush . Still the odd hook and pull. Tour soft with tax are $51 which is expensive but a treat . I think in the USA are about $32
Oh man, at one point, I could lose lose 3 balls in a row into a water hazard! LOL thats not really the case now but... those days were painful!!
Thanks . I might kiss a ball during a round but the scores are so much better . Even the cheap balls here at like 2:50. -3.or wirh tax . So extra $1. Isn’t going to ruin my game . Maybe if a horrible game .
For now, I'm going cheap. If I'm practicing on the course, I'm taking some risks with my swing and I definitely send some balls into another zip code. There are also a few super tight fairways and it with fairway, 10 feet of rough or woods on both sides. I decided, wasting time looking for $3 balls was taking away from my enjoyment of the game. If poke in the wood, I simply drop a provisional and hit another from the same spot or, If I'm playing for a score, I'll drop where it went in and take my penalty. Sure I'll take a quick look but I won't spend more than a minute, literally, looking for it. This only perspective change alone, transformed how much fun I have on the golf course. That change brought on more successful shots due to my enjoyment and confidence level going up, which led to lower scores, less anxiety and more freedom to let myself make the changes we need to make to engrain this swing! Al that from buying cheap balls! I've gone with Vice. They feel nice, they behave pretty well, from what my limited skill level can surmise. For instance, I tagged a green from 185 with a 5 iron. I hit it slightly thin and it didn't have a ton of height but, it left a ball mark and stopped on the fringe. I think I pro v1 might have stopped sooner but, I might have had more apprehension about losing it and blew the shot... I guess if you rarely lose a ball, you won't really care. But, are you (the proverbial you, not the literal you) not losing balls because you're not trying to get to the next level? hm...
