I am done with swing changes. I am saving hours a week not watching YouTube videos on the golf swing. Just trust this. You will have your struggles but they can be fixed much easier with this swing. My best advice:
'Short' Swing - take what you think is a half swing and video yourself. I guarantee it will feel like a 1/2 swing, but will be a full swing, and maybe more.
Tilt, Tilt, Tilt! I can never tilt enough. Even when I feel like I am over-tilting, I am not. Flat shoulders will kill you.
Head Still. Can't stress this one enough. Keep the head dead still and feel like everything is turning around in a circle underneath your neck.
Practice the 2.8 drill repeatedly! I still use this drill every week. Go to the 5:58 mark and watch Tom's two swings through 6:30. Do they look like huge swings? Does the backswing look 'short'? Does he look like he's putting a lot of effort into the swing? Compare that swing to yours. I bet his has a lot less moving parts.
If you are struggling, just play with the 2.8 drill. You may hit is a little shorter, but it will be straight. Just get up and down 50% of the time and your scores will plummet.
I saw a video of Tom's last night and thought of your 700 swing changes. Although I now have 'one swing', I still have many different 'swing thoughts'. It goes back to the 'real vs feel'. Some days a particular swing thought helps me to accomplish a motion in the swing, such as not taking the club back too far, or for me most often, the tilt and movement of the right shoulder on the downswing. This helps me with preventing 'over the top'. I saw this video and it reminded me of a good swing thought I had early on in learning this swing and it really helped. I actually forgot about this one, even though I have it in my practice journal. https://youtu.be/V_px7Qmd-o8
Only 700? Those are rookie #'s.
