Tom, your videos are always awesome and I think I need to take this approach to playing golf. As you mentioned in a recent youtube with another favourite you tube, Eric C, I am not sure why I would try the traditional method yet again after 16 years of never breaking 90. I’ve had success with being a functional flipper and been able to hit decent shots, but the beautiful draw etc were never part of the Arsenal. I actually joined earlier this year but did not commit properly to the program after a frustrating start, and the fact it didn’t look like Rory’s swing. I am ready to take this summer off of playing and focus on learning this swing. My question is, I’ve made my way to the “best drill of all time” and I am really struggling. I am filming and using a mirror but am not getting that nice ball first hit. I’m actually topping some with a slow half swing, which is brutal. What do you think is the most likely culprit to this? Am I flipping and not knowing it? Losing posture? Like you’ve mentioned I’m about ready to quit and certainly don’t want To but I stopped having fun out there !

@Tim Buhler - First of all, we need to remove the word "quit" from the vernacular as failure is not an option here!!
If you are struggling with the 2.8 Drill, then there is nearly a 100% likelihood of a deficiency somewhere in the process leading up to it - either in the foundational elements of Chapter 1 or the various motions in Chapter 2. As such it may be a good idea to try the 90% Weight Forward/Arms Straight Drill as this should help you to ingrain the proper feels. It's not an easy drill, but it is very effective, so be sure to spend sufficient time to properly learn, execute, and master it. You'll know you're doing it properly when impact is consistently crispy, divots are occurring past the ball, and ball flight is a repeatable little push-draw.
Also, have a look at the recent forum threads titled "Beyond Frustrated" and "New Member Intro + Frustrations" as you may find some helpful comments in both of these.
Finally, always know that the V1 Swing Video Analysis is available to you. This is an effective and inexpensive service that I highly recommend to everyone in the school. I liken it to bringing your swing into the shop for a tune-up or minor repair. Scheduling one on a quarterly basis for preventive maintenance will do wonders for keeping things humming along nicely, and it's also a great tool for pinpointing and resolving any issues that arise. The process involves downloading the free V1 app and then submitting two videos to me through the app - one down-the-line (captured from your stance line, not the target line) and the other face-on. You'll find more information about the V1 Analysis halfway down this page on the Saguto.Golf site.
Let's get you back on track to crispy contact and having fun out there!
