Tom I have been watching your videos consistently for probably 6 - 8 months. You really stress tilting and the benefits of doing so. I thought I was tilting just fine but I just wasn't getting good contact. In one video I clearly remember you saying " If you think you are tilting enough, you probably aren't".
We'll I took that to heart and said I would tilt the heck out it. I have to say, I was scared to death where the hell the ball would go. I took some practice swings and felt out of control.
Well I said go for it at 50% speed and I was floored by the result!! It felt so great!! I continued with tilting but my shots became very inconsistent. I remembered your saying and went back and tilted again and it came back. You really need to focus like a Lazer on this part of the golf swing.
I can't thank you enough for everything you do for us golfers. I am working daily on my swing in my garage and focusing on center contact and playing a little. My goal is to become a RETIRED GOLFER. I am well on my way thanks to you.
@Dave Carlson - You nailed it! There's a reason this is called Golf Swing Simplified and not Golf Swing Made Easy, because there is no such thing as the latter! However, with enough work ingraining the correct motions this can also become a Low-Maintenance Golf Swing.
The tilt component - or having a sufficient amount of it - is a foreign concept for the majority of golfers who are transitioning from a "Shift & Lift" swing style. It just takes time and repetition to ingrain it, along with recognizing the calling cards of those stubborn ghosts of swings past when they start to creep back in to haunt us. Eventually we will exorcise them, but it doesn't typically happen without a fight!
Great job figuring this out. You are well on your way towards taking ownership of your swing!!
