Have any of you done and over speed training? If so any recomendations on a swing speed radar device? Going to start one once the weather starts warming up here.
@My Golf Quest I have several buddies who have used the over speed training. As far as swing speed radars, I had the SC200 and upgraded to the SC300 from a few years ago. It has been very accurate as it relates to swing speed, ball speed, distances. However, now there are several new devices on the market including the upgraded SC300i.The entry level units start off around $300-$350 and the higher end of the cheaper units are about $500. I would have no hesitation recommending the SC300 (now SC300i).There are several other really nice units available on the market today. 1. Garmin R10. This unit is super nice, hit a shot and it will show the shot tracer on a paired phone. I used a friends to test it out and really nice, but does require paired phone to see any data.2.Rapsodo mobile launch monitor, pairs with phone and uses phone for displays including recording your swing with shot tracer. In this case the Rapsodo actually connects to your phone and uses the phone mounted in the unit as a display and as a camera for recording.3. SC300i - already covered, but nice advantage to this unit is you get a remote control and use that to set club which is nice at the range. Changing club on the unit allows you to see and analyze all the data from practice session. It also now includes software to use phone to record shots with shot tracer. This unit has an added benefit in that you can use it without a phone, but can sync range session data to your phone later for analysis. and if you are hitting shots can even have it call out yardages after each shot…also nice when you are on the range by yourself. Hit a shot, watch it, listen for distance without even having to look at the unit. If you want to get a little sillier, the next group of launch monitors will start in the $2000 dollar range: Skytrak (I have this unit and I am gonna sell it), Mevo plus, and a new Bushnell launch pro )$3000. The advantage of the higher end units is that they can also be integrated into a full simulator setup and work for Indoor just as well as outdoor. From these entry level LM’s the next click moves into the pro level stuff…have experimented with several if you want to go there. :)
@Russell Hogue, PhD - Any thoughts on this? Thanks
