Recently post my goals of 50% in the Money and 30% flight weekly wins.
And will be happy to meet them.
Now that League registration has started and I am signed up.
We play a 9 hole league every Wednesday alternating front and back nine. Most players play the full 18 anyway but only the 9 we start off with counts for league play and it's anytime on Wednesday just have to have another league member playing with you. I'm in a regular foursome.
So also with the world coming back to their senses, we will be having a match play tourney's again that start a month after the league starts(opening day is April13th). Bracketed like NCAA and by end of season will be down to final 2. Both regular match and senior division 50+. I signed up for both divisions.
And of course like I said I would not be disappointed to meet my original goals.
But thinking back to my younger days when involved in organized sports , hockey, baseball, We went out to win.
So I am going to be realistic but that being said ,the only way to approach each round, each hole, each shot is to play to beat the course and win.
I'm not being full of myself.....but that is the mindset I believe is needed and will pursue that and play smart golf and always remember it's about the shot you have now, not the last one.
Those are some great goals, @Steven!
The mindset you are speaking about is consistent with what you'll find in the book "Fearless Golf: Conquering the Mental Game" by Dr. Gio Valiante. I highly recommend it.
That is a great attitude to have. Having a swing we can trust to execute the shot without worrying about mechanics is half the battle. Seems like every swing I'm trying to figure out I did wrong on the one before it. Way to stay positive!
