Hi guys, just lately by chipping has gone to pot , have tried both the methods and they work well but then suddenly I’ll have four or five chips where the ball goes 90 degrees to the right. I think my swing path is ok but the results contradict this , any advice is most welcome. Thanks

@steve.dawkins are you still having issues with the peeler?
this is a super easy problem to fix once you diagnose the problem properly. If you can post some video of you hitting some chips we will be able to fix quickly.
@steve.dawkins Nice to hear from you Steve. Been there done what you're talking about. Sounds like @Patrick Anlauf and @GolfLivesMatter have given some awesome advice to address the problem. Just remember not to beat yourself up for making mistakes. That's how we learn and get better so we can have more fun. Keep it crispy!
@steve.dawkins- Hi Steve. The finesse shots are, of course, opposite of the Power Game with Driver, Fairway Woods, etc. Less strength at approach, and more accuracy and concern for distance. Your problem may be one of using the right club. Chipping is more like putting, where the ball spends less time in the air and more time on the ground. Thus more accuracy, and less dispersion around the hole. Try using a putting stroke of 7 thru 9 iron and see what happens. Find which club works for you, personally.
Common issue...as the club and/or shot gets shorter, the more chance of a shank. I suggest going to my post in Setup & Address to see if you are properly setup, meaning you're in balance at address.
Get a pool noodle, box, plastic range bucket, even a few tees and place about a 1/4 inch outside the ball and try not to hit the item. Your body will adjust sooner or later.
Alternately, play the ball where you play it, but your goal is to swing and miss the ball to the inside. I mean totally miss the ball. How did that feel vs. the swing you typically use? Next, try to swing even MORE inside so you REALLY miss the ball by a ton. How did that feel, and how did you do that? To completely miss inside the ball, did you stand a little taller at address? Was your weight more on your heels? Did the trail wrist retain a more bend? Did you take the club back a little more outside on the backswing? Did the left side "pull" the club down and inside? Only you can answer those questions. Then after all those severe inside misses, play the ball more towards your toes and hit the ball. I also suggest putting tape or foot powder spray on the club face to see where you're hitting the ball, and do that before and then after the training.
As I found myself, you may discover that your natural bottom point should be closer to your toes than you thought. Playing the ball too far away with too much torso bend can cause a throw out of the club at the ball. Also, the "miss inside the ball" drill may help you with your fuller swings to discover if your low point is closer to your feet than you thought. If you setup like Andy in the picture in my other post, your low point could well be closer to your toes pending if you have too much torso tilt with too much weight on your toes in your current address position.
@Patrick Anlauf & @GolfLivesMatter - Y'all have had much to say on this topic of late. Any advice for @steve.dawkins?
