But does the golf swing to you FEEL like a swing? Like a swinging motion of a pendulum …think crispier KFC section in swing school. The extend spine with straight arms drill. Seems like more of a swing rather than worrying about holding all these angles.
Just want to get everyone’s opinion !!
Great dialogue, @jon & @colton! There is much about this in the book that you will see me recommend quite frequently here: "Fearless Golf: Conquering the Mental Game" by Dr. Gio Valiante.
Try to limit your on-course mechanical thoughts to one or two maximum. It's admittedly very difficult to do this while learning a new swing and perhaps not yet having full confidence, but do it anyway. And these thoughts should only occur well prior to stepping into your shot. Once you are behind the ball and setting up the shot, clear your mind of mechanics, positions, motions, etc. and become exclusively target-focused until after the shot is executed. You want to be playing "golf", not "golf swing"!
