So swinging lefty and having a right dominant hand has been an issue for me. I’ve never been able to feel the “backwards karate chop” or punching through the ball with my trail arm. So finally yesterday I thought “Don’t feel like My lead wrist is hinging. Instead feel like my trail wrist is extending (cupping).” I basically had to take all the tension out of my lead hand. Not loosen the grip per se, but more like relaxing without loosening the grip. BOOM! It worked. Now I can feel the backhanded karate chop, and here’s the bonus: I have NEVER had lag..... EVER (I was a functional flipper). But now look. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. It was actually too much. On this shot I ended up hitting it thin and slicy. So if you’re dominant arm is your lead arm, this really helped me. I don’t wanna mess anyone’s swing up so Tom, if there’s any caveats about this please by all means put it out there. 😊

@mynameislo62 - Here's one of the threads I referenced in response to your comment.
@Buford T Ogletree - You've already seen the excellent post from @michaelgraff1943 regarding how he applied shoulder retraction to your shared situation.
Beyond that, oftentimes I'll suggest the following to "flipfloppers":
One of the keys is to not allow that strong arm - which probably seems to have a mind of its own in anxiously wanting to take over when you're trying to bust one - to jump ahead of the lower body and throw the entire downswing out of sequence, because if it does you're likely taking regular trips to Pull-Slice City. If you can train it instead to trail the lower body to the point where the shaft is parallel to the ground on the way down, then you should be in position to hit hard with the dominant hand as if it were a tennis backhand shot or throwing a frisbee. (Or, as you say, the backhanded karate chop...)
You've just got to build in a feel for what works for you - provided it is consistent with the swing methodology and doesn't throw things out of whack - and you seem to be doing that here. I like the lag and would not say that it's "too much". You're just not used to it yet. There's a tremendous amount of stored up power there ready to be unleashed with your WRATH!
Nice work!
Tom
