71 years old and many years of courses, lessons, etc etc etc. From one day to the next or one 9 to the next...different golfer shows up! Only thing consistent about my game is my ongoing inconsistency. My mental game comes and goes and my swing etc is one day ok. next day too fast, next day over the top, next day chunking it, next day slicing it. I know what to do but something makes me too mechanical and not fluid and easy in my swing. Seriously know I can play this game but staying at an 18-20 handicap sure saps the life out of ya! Sorry for the rant

I am starting to like this game. :-) Have been really watching and rewatching the videos and doing the BASICS and already see a remarkable difference. Tom's videos and advice are straight on and not full of all kinds of do this do thats..........my mind does not work that way. I like the KISS way Tom teaches...............Playing tomorrow and 3 times next week...see if the recent breakthroughs continue then. Thanks much
Rewatched the initial videos of grip, stance, ball position etc..........went out determined to play better golf. The one thing I really know I do that I was fully concisous of not doing yesterday was fast swinging, or over the top jumping at the ball...........wow. Shot 43 front and 39 back with a bad double bogey on last hole par 5!! Funny how I actually enjoyed my round for a change. Onward with working on this via Tom. Thanks much
Thanks Tom............Patience patience and practice practice I know is the answer. Much appreciate your insights. Live here in MB now and enjoy the weather and the game still...but wish to take it to a new level and will.
Don't be too hard on yourself! This game is incredibly difficult, and can be very frustrating. I'm assuming that because you're a member of this forum, you're also part of the Saguto program and have access to the lessons? Have you started the process? I can tell you that I experienced MUCH the same as what you're going through. I have had several lessons, and nothing compares to Tom. The way in which he simplifies the swing helps tremendously to reduce the dreaded swing thoughts and anxiety standing over the ball. I started at the very beginning of his lessons. And I mean beginning with grip and stance. I have played golf for 30+ years, and felt that I was "close". Well, as I progressed through the lessons, I realized that I was not nearly as close as I thought.
Be patient with yourself. It takes a significant amount of time to beat those bad habits. Hang in there, and know that you're not alone!
