@Mark Lopez - Without getting into any kind of specific analysis here, I just want to piggyback off of the dialogue between you and @Nocona Colt Abernathy as it relates to the trail foot. That foot is simply reacting to the lower body action in the swing. Many golfers get too active in the wrong way with the lower body, and oftentimes it's the hip rotation kicking in too early. This can reroute the club across the ball, and it will also have the effect of bringing the trail foot up onto the toes.
Without getting too far ahead of your progress through the school, in Part 2 of The Best Contact Drill I speak about the lower body action and offer a drill to help quiet it. Give it a try and you will begin to appreciate what he was saying in his "critique" of your swing.
By the way, I trust his judgment immensely and it sounds like you've got a lot of great things going on!
Good looking swing. Your ball position is a little further back than what is "normal" but that's really more preference. The only thing I will say is it can cause you to be steep into the ball, which causes a lot of issues.
Your backswing is on plane and you create very good depth and wrist angles. The only "critique" I have is you need to keep your trail foot planted in the ground until after you have struck the ball. That keep your hips out of the way and keep your hands on the in-to-out path your looking for.
Thank you for the reply. I will try to keep the ball further up in my stance. I have struggled with my rear foot for as long as I can remember. I’m not sure if it’s a flexibility issue or just timing.
Welcome to this great Forum Community, @Mark Lopez! We hope to see you participating here regularly in the great dialogue taking place on a variety of golf topics!
While I personally refrain from offering swing video analyses here as it conflicts with my V1 service, I'm confident you'll find that many of the "regulars" here have a solid knowledge of the swing and can offer very valuable insight from their respective experiences. If you do not receive any responses, I encourage you to look at some of the other posts in the Video Analysis Room section of the Forum, see who some of the regular players are, and tag them here in your post (use the "@" sign and then start typing their name and the system will then give you the ability to choose that member - just like I did in tagging you at the top of this message).
On a side note, I did have difficulty downloading your video. Not sure if others will have the same issue. In this regard it's usually much better - and more convenient for fellow members - if the actual video can be embedded in the post. You'll understand what I mean if you search some of the other threads.
@Mark Lopez Perfect! Nice backdrop, by the way. Where are you located? Be sure to let your fellow members know in this thread. You never know what other SagutoGolfers may be lurking in your vicinity...
